Members of UP LICSians’ Society sing for charity
December 21, 2011 - PASIG, Philippines Nothing says Christmas spirit like singing for charity: members of the UP LICSians’ Society conducted the first day of their Christmas Carol for a cause, today, December 21, 2011, in Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City.
The program aims to raise funds for the victims of Typhoon Sendong in the Philippines, via door-to-door Christmas Caroling.
Ten members from the organization sung their renditions of well-loved Christmas carols, “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Hark The Herald, Angels Sing”, “Angels We Have Heard on High”, and a medley of classic Filipino Christmas songs such as “Pasko Na Naman”, “Ang Pasko ay Sumapit” and “Sa May Bahay”.
The choir was conducted by Mr. Jake Obligado, a student of Music Education from the College of Music in the University of the Philippines, Diliman. The caroling program was spearheaded by Mr. Jerome Bernardino, a student of BS Mathematics from the College of Science in the same university.
UP LICSians’ Society is a non-profit, community service organization of La Immaculada Concepcion School alumni who are currently studying in the University of the Philippines, aiming to develop individuals who will help shape the community.
